Crime & Policy Violation Report

The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety between Dec. 6, 2011 and Jan. 13, 2012. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

Aggravated Assault 2

Jan. 6, 12:05 a.m. 100 Block of North 36th Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that Jan. 6 at 12:05 a.m., a male known to her struck her in the right leg with his car during a dispute, causing a minor injury.

Jan. 13, 1:45 p.m. 400 Block of North Napa Street

A Drexel student reported that Jan. 13 at 1:45 p.m., a he was struck in the head with a bottle by another Drexel student, causing a minor injury.

Burglary 5

Dec. 6, 5 p.m. 3200 Block of Arch Street

A Drexel employee reported Jan 9 that between Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 8:30  a.m., unknown person(s) entered her office with no sign of force and took a laptop computer from her desk.

Dec. 9, 10 p.m. 3300 Block of Arch Street

A Drexel student reported that between Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. and Jan. 6 at 7 p.m., unknown person(s) entered his bedroom by forcing the door and personal items.

Dec. 9, 4 p.m. 3200 Block of Chestnut Street

A Drexel employee reported that between Dec. 9 at 4 p.m. and Jan. 11 at 10 a.m., unknown person(s) entered her office with no sign of force and took a laptop computer from her desk.

Dec. 10, 2 p.m. 3500 Block of Hamilton Street

A Drexel student reported that between Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. and Jan. 8 at 12 p.m., unknown person(s) entered his residence by forcing the front door and took electric equipment

Dec. 12, 5 p.m. 100 Block of North 33rd Street

A Drexel employee reported that between Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. and Jan. 6 at 8 a.m., unknown person(s) forced the front door to his work area and took two laptop computers from the desks.

Drugs 1

Jan. 13, 10 p.m. 3200 Block of Market Street

Drexel Police arrested a non-Drexel affiliate, 19-year-old Ryan Kern, Jan. 13 at 8:30 a.m. after he was found to be in possession of cocaine.

Theft 6

Jan. 8, 7 p.m. 3400 Block of Powelton Avenue

A Drexel student reported that on Jan. 8 between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., unknown person(s) took his bike that was secured to his railing with a combination lock.

Jan. 3, 9 a.m. 3100 Block of Market Street

A non-Drexel affiliate reported that Jan. 3 between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., unknown person(s) took his car that was parked and locked from the highway.

Jan. 11, 11:30 p.m. 400 Block of North Napa Street

A Drexel student reported that between Jan. 11 at 11:30 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 1:15 p.m., unknown person(s) took her bike that secured to a railing with a chain lock.

 

Jan. 12, 7:30 p.m. 3200 Block of Hamilton Street

A Drexel student reported that between Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 13 at 9:25 a.m., unknown person(s) forced the window of her car open and ransacked the interior. Nothing was taken.

Jan. 13, 11:30 a.m. 3300 Block of Market Street

A Drexel employee reported that Jan. 13 between 11:30 a.m.  and 12:10 p.m., unknown person(s) broke the lock to his locker and took his wallet.

Jan. 13, 8:30 a.m. 3300 Block of Market Street

A Drexel employee reported that Jan. 13 between 8:30 a.m.  and 12:30 p.m., unknown person(s) entered her unlocked office and took cash from her unattended purse.

Vandalism 1

Jan. 13, 10 p.m. 3200 Block of Powelton Avenue

Drexel student reported that between Jan. 13 at 10 p.m. and Jan. 14 at 10:30 a.m., unknown person(s) broke eggs over the doors and windshield of his auto.

Drug & Alcohol Policy Violations 14

During the period covered by this report, there were fourteen (14) reported alcohol violations. The reports were sent to the Office of Student Conduct for review.
