Fall for the Arts Festival

Enjoy a day of art, music, culinary delights and boutique shopping as Germantown Avenue is transformed into an outdoor arts and crafts marketplace. More than  200 talented artists from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond will present a fabulous array of art including oils, watercolors, etchings, photography, sculpture, pottery, woodcrafts, jewelry and accessories, as well as live entertainment.

12 Angry Men

This drama packed play tells the story of twelve strangers who must decide the fate of a young man accused of murder. Charged with the task of becoming unanimous in their decision, both the best and the worst of these characters is revealed. Nornally perfomed with a cast of 12 caucasian males, this production features a cast of all African-American male and female actors.

Philadelphia Open Studio Tours

Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, a program of The Center for Emerging Visual Artists is the largest tour of artist studios and creative workspaces in the region, and one of the premier open studio tour events in the country. Each October, the Tours span 20 unique Philadelphia neighborhoods, feature over 300 participants, engage audiences topping 30,000, and literally put Philadelphia’s professional artists “on the map” for locals and tourists alike. The Philadelphia Open Studio Tours includes self-guided tours of artist studios and related creative workspaces, gallery exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops, artist talks, receptions, and guided tours.

Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival

Not only is it wet and wild, it’s an experience you’ll never forget! Dragon Boat Racing is the world’s fastest growing water sport  and also the most exciting. 20 paddlers move in unison, combining strength with teamwork in a boat whose elaborate design originates in ancient China. See for yourself as over 50 teams of community members, charities, and corporate groups race along a 500-meter course down the Schuylkill River. Spectators also have access to a tented picnic area that will be a hub of festivities as teams pass in and out during the race day.

30th Street Craft Market

Saturday, Oct. 5 will be the next 30th Street Craft Market, on The Porch at 30th Street Station. Shop unique, locally made gifts like jewelry, ceramics, stationery, art prints and originals, bath & body products, children’s items and more. There will also be food trucks including Mac Mart, Schmear Bagels, Weckerly’s Ice Cream and live music by the West Philly Orchestra!
