Crime & Policy Violation Report

The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety between June 13, 2011 and June 25, 2011. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

Assault
June 20, 11:05 a.m. 3400 Block of Race St.
On June 20 at 11:05 a.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that she was she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, also a non-Drexel affiliate. Minor injuries were reported. Investigation is ongoing by the Philadelphia Police Department.

Theft
June 13, 8 a.m. 1400 Block of Wood St.
On June 13, between 8 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) broke her car window and took electronic equipment that was left in view.

June 19, 3 p.m. 1500 Block of Race St.
On June 19 at 3 p.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that an unknown male took her wallet containing cash from her hand and fled on foot.

June 20, 4:30 p.m. 2900 Block of Queen Lane
Between June 20 at 4:30 p.m. and June 21 at 4:35 p.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) took cash from his backpack that was left unattended.

June 20, 5:30 p.m. 3500 Block of Market St.
Between June 20 at 5:30 p.m. and June 21 at 6:45 a.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) broke the window of his lunch truck and took cash that was left unsecured.

June 22, 12:14 a.m. 3200 Block of Winter St.
On June 22 at 12:14 a.m., a Drexel student reported that an unknown male knocked on his front door posing as a tow truck driver, scamming the complainant out of a small amount of cash.

June 22, 1 p.m. 3400 Block of Lancaster Ave.
On June 22, between 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) took his bike that was secured with a chain lock.

June 22, 1:55 p.m. 3400 Block of Lancaster Ave.
On June 22 at 1:55 p.m, Philadelphia Police arrested a female identified as Laverne Robinson, 36, after she fled 7-Eleven with items that she failed to pay for.

June 22, 3 p.m. 3300 Block of Market St.
On June 22, between 3 p.m. and 3:10 p.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) took his laptop computer that was left unattended.

June 23, 11:45 a.m. 3100 Block of J.F.K. Blvd.
On June 23 at 11:45 a.m., a Drexel staff member reported that she saw an unknown male going through her backpack that was left unattended in her unlocked office. The male fled without taking anything.

June 25, 3 a.m. 200 Block of North 32nd St.
On June 25, between 3 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) broke her car window and took her purse and clothing that was left in view.

Vandalism
June 20, 5:30 p.m. 3500 Block of Market St.
Between June 20 at 5:30 p.m. and June 21 at 6:55 a.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) entered his lunch truck by cutting a lock and vandalized the interior.

June 24, midnight 3400 Block of Pearl St.
On June 24, between midnight and 10:24 a.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) broke the front window of his car in an unknown manner.

Drugs
June 21, 5:14 p.m. 3400 Block of Race St.
On June 21 at 5:14 p.m., Philadelphia and Drexel Police arrested a non-Drexel affiliate identified as Richard Ellison, 24, after he was observed selling marijuana to non-Drexel affiliates Matthew Woodward, 29, Douglas D’Annible, 23, and Phillip Maffei, 24, who were also arrested.

Alcohol
During the period covered by this report, there was one (1) reported policy violation for alcohol. The report was sent to the Office of Student Conduct for review.
