Crime & Policy Violation Report

The following are crimes that occurred on or near campus and were reported to The Triangle by the Drexel University Department of Public Safety between July 12, 2011 and July 25, 2011. All information included in this report is taken from law enforcement or DPS incident reports.

Burglary 4
July 15, 4 p.m. 3200 Block of Powelton Ave.
Between July 15 at 4 p.m. and July 18 at 9 a.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) entered his residence through an open window and took appliances.

July 15, 4:15 p.m. 200 Block of North 33rd St.
Between July 15 at 4:15 p.m. and July 17 at 12:45 p.m., a Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) attempted to gain access through a locked window. No entry was made.

July 19 100 Block of North 34th St.
On July 19, Drexel Police arrested Blaine Harris, 37, black male, for burglary and related offenses.

July 20, 5 p.m. 3200 Block of Arch St.
Between July 20 at 5 p.m. and July 21 at 8 a.m., a Drexel employee reported that unknown person(s) entered her office without force and took cash from her unlocked desk drawer.

Robbery 1
July 21, 1:15 p.m. 3000 Block of Market St.
On July 21 at 1:15 p.m., Amtrak Police arrested Donald Williams, 47, for the attempted robbery of a non- Drexel affiliate as he fled the scene. Nothing was taken and no injuries were reported.

Theft 10
July 12, 10 a.m. 3100 Block of Market St.
On July 12, between 10 a.m. and noon, a Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) took her wallet from her purse that was left unattended.

July 12, 8 p.m. 200 Block of North 15th St.
Between July 12 at 8 p.m. and July 13 at 9 a.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) took her bike that was secured to a bike rack with a chain lock.

July 13, 9:30 p.m. 3400 Block of Warren St.
On July 13, between 9:30 p.m. and 10:10 p.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) broke the window to his car and took electronic equipment left in plain view.

July 14, midnight Unit Block of South 34th St.
On July 14, between midnight and 9 a.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) broke the window to her car and took an iPod left in plain view.

July 17, 11 a.m. 3200 Block of Baring St.
On July 17, between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a non-Drexel affiliate reported that unknown person(s) entered his unlocked room and took his medication.

July 19, 9:30 a.m. 3300 Block of Race St.
On July 19, between 9:30 a.m. and 9:35 a.m., a Drexel employee reported that unknown person(s) took his iPod that was left unattended in the hallway.

July 21, 9 a.m. 3300 Block of Market St.
On July 21, between 9 a.m. and noon, a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) took her bike that was left unlocked on a bike rack.

July 21, 12:30 p.m. 3400 Block of Pearl St.
On July 21 at 12:30 p.m, Drexel Police arrested Leroy Caple, 54, of 738 N. 38th Street, after he was observed entering a vehicle of a Drexel student and attempting to take items from inside.

July 21, 5:30 p.m. 3300 Block of Market St.
On July 21, between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) took his backpack and cell phone that were left unattended.

July 25, 9:30 p.m. 3200 Block of Race St.
On July 25 at 9:30 p.m, Drexel Police arrested a juvenile male after he was found to be in possession of a bike that was reported stolen by a Drexel student on July 24.

Vandalism 3
July 13, 11 p.m. 200 Block of North 34th St.
Between July 13 at 11 p.m. and July 15 at 4 p.m., a Drexel student reported that a sign in the front yard of a fraternity house was damaged in an unknown manner.

July 14, 7:40 p.m. 200 Block of North 32nd St.
Between July 14 at 7:40 p.m. and July 16 at 12:40 a.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) wrote graffiti on the back window of her car.

July 15, 5 p.m. 3200 Block of Summer St.
Between July 15 at 5 p.m. and July 18 at 7:30 a.m., a Drexel student reported that unknown person(s) broke the front windshield of her car with a brick.

Alcohol and Drug Policy Violations 1
During the period covered by this report there was one (1) policy violation for alcohol. The report was sent to the Office of Student Conduct for review.
