The Alpha Chi Rho fraternity held a vigil for John Williamson Jr. and Ian Alexander, two brothers that were killed in a car crash while on a fraternity trip in north-central Pennsylvania Jan. 25.
Hundreds of Drexel students, Greek Life members, family and friends came out to show their support for Williamson and Alexander at North Hall Jan. 26 at 9 p.m.
Matthew Magee, treasurer of the fraternity, spoke to the attendees about the "best men [he's] ever met in [his] life."
Students stood in silence and after a prayer by Father Morbetto, remained together.
Magee asked students to, as they go forward, think about the good times. He also thanked the Drexel community, friends and families of the victims for coming out.
Four other students, Kevin MacDonald, freshman, engineering major; Adam Marsh, pre-junior, business and engineering major; Andrew Cardamone, freshman, architectural engineering major; and Eric Rayburn freshman, health sciences major are currently in the hospital and in serious condition.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Police said the SUV struck a "rock cut" along the
mountainside around 3:30 that morning.
The accident is still under investigation, according to Police.
