Ross Commons Closes for Renovations
Issue date: 7/11/08 Section: News
On Friday, June 13th Student Union Operations closed Ross Commons for the summer term for renovations. When the doors re-open in September, Ross Commons will provide students with more meeting room space, a small reception area for private events, an upgraded game room and a resource center that will include a copier and computers.
"Over the past year Student Union Operations has been closely evaluating the use of Ross Commons and listening to student feedback on how to improve the services available," said Rita LaRue-Gollatti, senior associate vice president for business services. "I believe the planned renovations will address students' interests more closely and the building will become even more of a destination for students as it was intended to be by the Ross Family," she added.
"Student Union Operations always welcomes student feedback regarding our services at any of our locations. A lot of resources have been invested in Ross Commons and we want to make sure that students are satisfied and utilizes the beautiful facilities the building has to offer," said Paula King, executive director for auxiliary and housing operations.
Renovations will be completed by the beginning of the fall term and a Grand Re-Opening will be scheduled at which the Drexel community will be invited to tour the facility, sample food, receive free giveaways and learn how to reserve the newly renovated spaces for student organization meetings and events.
