Why am I saying all of this? Your time in college is limited. These are some of the best years of your life, if you allow them to be. Don't waste it being a pessimist. Sure, there are things you may not like about Drexel or your present circumstance. However, don't spend your time here criticizing everything or being unsatisfied. If you don't like something about Drexel, change it. You have the power as students to say something if you aren't satisfied. When you talk to administration in a respectful way, they will listen. I know this is very repetitious of my past articles, but I feel it's a very important point to get across.
You should get involved and help things change for the better. If you are interested in working with other students to overcome the negativity on our campus, let me know. In the summer, I hope to start putting a group of students together committed to campaigning for optimism on campus. This will be entirely student run - so we can look at issues from the student perspective, in a practical manner, but with the purpose of showing people all the great things Drexel has to offer. If you would be interested in helping out with this, please e-mail: whatsgreat@drexel.edu.
I am confident there are plenty of students at Drexel who truly enjoy being here. If you are one of those students let me know. If you are one who hates Drexel or has had a really hard time with your experience here, start trying to focus on the positives can come from it. I know there are plenty of frustrating things about Drexel, but there is bound to be something here that you can enjoy. If you would like assistance in finding ways to enjoy your experience here more, or how to get help with the problems you are facing, feel free to contact me. I would love to help in whatever ways I can.
I hope my articles have been of some benefit to you. I hope they have made you think twice and possibly even put a smile on your face.

Complacency is a choice... Happiness is a pursuit. These 'Optimist' columns are neither interesting nor insightful, not to mention boring as a 3pm lecture on a Friday in week 10 of spring term- just skip it!
