Freshman pitcher Ashlee Veilleux was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for the week of April 23.

The highlight of Veilleux's week came on April 29 in Drexel's 5-2 win over Hofstra. She allowed just two hits over nine innings of work, had a double and scored the winning run.

On April 25, Veilleux pitched her third shutout of the season as the Dragons defeated La Salle 4-0. She gave up only four hits and struck out eight Explorers. She also went 2-3 with an RBI.

Veilleux had a record of 2-1 for the week with an ERA of 2.33, 15 strikeouts and 11 hits allowed in 18 innings. She also batted .467 for the week. Veilleux leads the team in batting, hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs and slugging percentage. Her 28 RBIs are the most ever by a Drexel freshman, tying an all-time Drexel record.

Veilleux was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for the week of March 12, making this her second conference honor of the season. Sophomore catcher Molly Dacey was named Player of the Week prior to Veilleux, making it the first time Drexel has ever had back-to-back Players of the Week.

Veilleux said, "It's a tremendous honor to be named Player of the Week, especially with all of the great players in the CAA. Our team played very well this week and I wouldn't have won the award without them."
