Women's lax explodes for 22 goals

Drexel women's lacrosse ended their season with a 22-3 annihilation of Howard, April 23. With the victory, the Dragon's set school records for goals, assists and points in a season. The 22-goal performance tied the highest scoring output for the Dragons in a game. Drexel finished with a 12-5 record, 2-5 in Colonial Athletic Association play. The 12 wins tied the school record for wins in a season.

The Dragons took control early, finishing the first half leading 14-2, and never gave it back. Kerry Kelly scored her 100th career goal, the sixth player to ever accomplish the feat for Drexel. For the second game in a row, Colleen Rocks led the Dragons in scoring. Rocks scored 5 goals to finish her career with 122 goals, the fifth-most in Drexel history. Lauren LaBella added her 12th win in net. She lowered her conference-leading goals against average to 8.59. Kelly Benzing, Jen Armstrong, Mara Cullen, Michelle Hasmall, Shawn Morris and Lauren LaBella all scored the first goals of their careers.

The Dragons fell 14-13 in overtime to Hofstra in their conference final match, April 21. Drexel's Emily Hoesch broke Drexel's single season record for goals, scoring four in the game to total 53 on the season. She scored her 54th goal against Howard.
