Drexel's men's basketball team lost a tough game at Northeastern, 63-60, to fall to 3-3 in conference play, Jan. 14.

Drexel took a 60-58 lead with 56 seconds remaining, after Chaz Crawford, who finished with six points and five rebounds, got an offensive board and scored a put-back bucket. The Huskies were able to score the last five points, including a Shawn James three-pointer, and take home a victory. James, who is second in the NCAA in blocks with almost six a game, only had two against the Dragons, in addition to seven points.

Dominick Mejia kept Drexel in the game by hitting four three-pointers, including his 100th as a Dragon, and scored a team-high 21 points, which accounted for over a third of his team's points. Bashir Mason, who finished with eight points and eight assists, missed a last-second three-pointer that would have sent the game into overtime. Mason's most important contribution to the team was not his offensive play, but his stellar defense against Jose Juan Barea. Barea, who is second in the nation in scoring average, was held to a season-low 13 points. He averages 23.5 points a game. Barea averages almost nine assists per game, and Mason held him to seven. Barea is normally responsible for almost 42 points per game, but was only responsible for 27 against the Dragons.
