Greek Life can be a rewarding experience

Take a walk down 34th Street and you're bound to notice Greek Row. Turn down Powelton Avenue and there's no way you can miss the Greek houses. Maybe you've read "Pledged" or seen ABC Family's "Greek," and who hasn't heard one or two stories about hazing - but what really happens in Greek life at Drexel?
If you watched this season of "Greek" and came to college expecting to see sorority girls dancing around the fraternity lawns in their underwear, you may be a bit disappointed. But if you came to Drexel interested in forming friendships that will last a lifetime, experiences you will never forget and memories that can't be made anywhere else, Drexel fraternities and sororities have you covered.
At Drexel, there are 11 Interfraternal-recognized (IFC) fraternities and five Panhellenic-recognized (PHC) sororities. There are also eight culturally-based fraternities and sororities recognized through the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) organizations.
The recruitment or "rush" process differs at every school. At Drexel, women interested in the Panhellenic sororities will attend three nights of events over the span of a week, allowing them to visit each sorority house. The first round of Panhellenic sorority recruitment is Oct. 8, the second is Oct. 10 and the last night of recruitment is Oct. 12, which is "Preference Night." The recruitment process ends Oct. 13 with "Bid Day," the day that new members are given invitations for membership in a sorority.
For IFC, the recruitment process is less structured. Each of the 11 fraternities will host several recruitment events starting Oct. 1, with all rush events ending by Oct. 19. Interested men should attend events at several houses to determine the organization that best matches their interests.
Membership in a Greek organization gives you a lot to look forward to while at Drexel and beyond. There are formals, date parties, socials, leadership conferences, chapter dinners, retreats, outings around Philadelphia, Phillies Greek Night, Greek Pack the DAC and much more. There is also Greek Week - a longstanding tradition for the Greek community. Greek Week events include talent show, stroll competition, water relay, tug of war, obstacle course and many other competitions.

I totally agree with J to the Izzo. In her stats she did mis the 12,000 gallons of booze consumed last year!
