Economy shows signs of picking up with new season

They say crocuses are the early signs of spring. When this metaphor is applied to the U.S. economy, some people are now calling the economic crocuses the "green shoots" of the economic recovery. Admittedly, when I wrote the first version of this post in March I said it was premature to write about an early recovery in the United States' economy, but now in May the situation has strengthened and reinforced the theme of the first version, pointing to a faster than expected modest recovery in the coming months.

Letter to the editor

Dear Editor, The first 100 days of Obama's presidency seem to be as far-fetched as humanly possible according to almost every 24-hour news program. Thankfully, last week when CNN reviewed the opinions on the coverage, they found that most people felt that the media was overbearing and did not cover what the viewers wanted to see.
