Dragons clinch sole possesion of regular season title

Drexel women's basketball coach Denise Dillon was visibly frustrated on the bench. Her team was giving minimum effort and trailed Towson by nine midway through the first half as the Tigers' full-court pressure was giving Drexel fits. Dillon called timeout and attempted to get her players back in the game.

CAA Tournament gets underway

Despite being picked last in the conference and having no players on the pre-season All-CAA squad, the men's basketball team proved itself worthy by earning five awards including one of the most prestigious, the CAA Coach of the Year. Head Coach Bruiser Flint, senior Scott Rodgers, freshman Samme Givens and junior Leon Spencer were all honored with CAA awards March 5, signifying the end of the regular season and the beginning of the CAA Tournament.

A Drexel University sports team has won a collegiate national championship. No, it was not one of the highly funded varsity basketball teams or even the nationally ranked men's lacrosse team - it was the Drexel men's club squash team, which clinched its first Chaffee Division National Championship over Vanderbilt by a score of six matches to three Feb.

Drexel women's basketball head coach Denise Dillon knew what her team was capable of, even after the Dragons struggled to a 10-21 record in 2006-07. But did she really believe it would be postseason bound just two seasons later? "I definitely thought it was possible because those teams played hard," Dillon said.

M. lax picks up first win

The men's lacrosse team finally got itself in the win column. Colin Ambler scored a goal and added four assists as the Dragons won their first game of the season, defeating Binghamton 11-4 Feb. 28 at Vidas Field. Greg Casey, Kevin Dart and Taylor Mansfield each had a pair of scores for Drexel (1-2), who lost its first two games of the season to Virginia and Penn.
