Buckley Recreational Field will be closed for resurfacing Nov. 15 and will be reopened in Jan. 2005. "The current surface has exceeded our expectancy and its lifespan," Senior Vice President for Student Life and Administrative Services Anthony Caneris said.
The Undergraduate Student Government Association announced winners in the elections held this week, with polls closing at 5 p.m. Nov. 11. "We had a decent turnout for the fall elections which generally produce a smaller turnout than spring elections with over 220 votes," USGA President John Doughery said.
In the third year of the Colonial Athletic Association's Blood Challenge, Drexel hoped to beat its rival, the University of Delaware, who was the 2001 and 2002 CAA Challenge winner. The final results of Drexel blood drive will not be released "until Nov. 22 when the last CAA institution has held their blood drive," Assistant Athletic Director Rebecca Gigli told The Triangle.
The LeBow College of Business's Executive MBA Program once again ranked in the top 50 EMBA programs in the world and in the top 25 in the country according to the Nov. 1 issue of the London-based Financial Times. The EMBA Program, which has been in existence for nearly three years, ranked 56 in 2003 and 47 in 2004 on par with many long established programs both in the United States and the rest of the world.

The University has responded to recent allegations that it is tapping student communications, in particular AOL's instant messenger program AIM. Drexel University "does not monitor individual communications," said Ken Blackney, associate vice president of Information Resources and Technology.
In light of recent allegations on Drexel having the capacity to tap AIM conversations, some students may be looking for a way to make their conversations more secure. For those who do not know, packet sniffers are a simple way to monitor activity on the network.
The InTech Creese Cafe is being redesigned to allow for better traffic flow and quicker service and will reopen to the public Jan. 3. The construction on the café, managed by the Department of Planning, Design and Construction, is located in the Creese Student Center on University City campus and began at the beginning of summer break.
In an ongoing effort to bring live, working writers to campus, the Drexel Writing Program sponsored renowned author Thisbe Nissen to speak at the Paul Peck Alumni Center Nov. 9. Dozens of students and faculty filled the room to leave late arrivals standing in the back.
LeBow College of Business Dean George Tsetsekos announced that a sizeable sum of school money would be set aside for students to "play the market, in real time, with real money." Drexel's Board of Trustees was responsible for making the decision. The announcement came at the CoB Fall Fireside Chat Nov.
