Clinton, Obama to debate in Philadelphia

Democratic presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will debate in Philadelphia at the National Constitution Center April 16, according to a press releases from both the campaigns.

A National Constitution Center spokeswoman confirmed the debate would be held at the Center.

"Senator Obama welcomes the opportunity to openly debate Senator Clinton on the issues important to Americans in North Carolina and Pennsylvania and hopes that she will accept these invitations as well," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton in a statement.

"Hillary is prepared to show she has real solutions for the problems facing residents of the Keystone State," said a statement from the Clinton campaign.

The Pennsylvania primary is April 22 and media attention has focused on the state as a key factor in the election.

ABC News in Philadelphia confirmed the debate for April 16 but could not confirm who would moderate the debate and the specific location.
