The University's official online publication, the Drexel Online Journal, recently announced the appointment of a new editor-in-chief, Amy Webb.

Webb will lead the DOJ as it prepares to undergo several changes. Later this March, a new name will be unveiled for the solely online publication.

Other changes will include a new Web site to be launched in July, which will mark the beginning of a bi-monthly production schedule. Daily updates will continue from then until January 2006 when the Journal will switch gears to a weekly production schedule.

Under Webb, the DOJ will split into several diverse areas, with sections devoted to news, pop culture, business, technology and the arts. Works will include fiction, poetry, film and screenplays.

Currently, the DOJ is not accepting any fiction or poetry submissions, according to their Web site at http://www.drexel.edu/doj. The web site goes on to say that the editorial policies regarding these works will be reevaluated in June.

Webb served as a correspondent for Newsweek, serving in the Tokyo bureau and has also reported for Hong Kong based publication of The Asian Wall Street Journal. Furthermore, several of Webb's works have appeared in The New York Times, the Indianapolis Star and Yoga International. Currently, the DOJ publishes an issue every six weeks. Payments for submissions are given, and occur one month after publication.
