Thank you for a most insightful article on the spread and mutation of Avian Flu. Not if, but when - and we near the when with amazing speed and it will be difficult to discern exactly the criteria of the Pandemic. Several variations of the flu are currently spreading across the U.S. and many people are ill. A form of H2N3 - Brisbane left the current yearly flu vaccination behind, leaving all the U.S. population who are not immune, and few are, vulnerable.

Avian Flu and strains of disease are our greatest threat more than any war - the great war we should be concerned of as a species of humankind is the War on Disease.

I'd like to suggest that readers look at the website getpandemicready.org in order to see why and how to prepare for a flu pandemic. PDF guides there explore all aspects of household preparedness and explain what impact a pandemic might have on daily life. Personal preparedness and family plans will be critical, especially for college students.
