Senior arrested, scandal erupts

Abstract:
Jocelyn Kirsch always had a smile on when she worked as a camp counselor at Camp Cheerio.

"She was a very friendly and outgoing person, very nice to everyone, and I didn't really see much other than that," Megan Rahn, a member of Camp Cheerio, said. Kirsch was her camp counselor....

Fake boobs and nosejobs? A quote from an exboyfriend's friend? These pictures? This is tabloid!

I don't agree with anything she's done nor do I know her personally, but this social crucifixion is unnecessary. She'll get her day in court and whatever justice she deserves. In the meantime, can we please leave her boobs out of it?

But it's so much more entertaining than the other crap this newspaper puts out!

The Triangle on Greta Van Sustren? For what? C'mon, Drexel lets report on the tragedies in the world like Darfur. You should be ashamed to be noted for reporting this stupid East Coast society gossip. What a ridiculous waste of time. Your editor should get a job with TMZ.

While the tragities in Darfur are horifying, it would be pointless to talk about it day in and day out. News agencies must report on other things, closer to home, to keep the fan base watching. If this is a concept that you cannot grasp, you may need to get a job and stop smoking so much pot.

And why should'nt the media know what's going on at this university? The more media the more exposure towards the lack of security and unwillingness to comment on what's going on? How else can the public know of this, which they are entitled to!

Solid news report (of the facts, just the facts) that will likely protect another who could have been so easily victimized. Perhaps you are destined to report on Congressional and US Government issues in the same manner.

It is really a shame about Jocelyn Kirsch! A beautiful woman at such a young age throwing her life and education down-the-drain simply for the love-of-money. Fake boobs or nose jobs have nothing to do with what is really troubling this young lady. This story reminds me of the tragic Long Island Lolita scandal from years back. Now that she has thrown her life away I guess that she may have a future in the Porn industry.

I think this is a disgrace! Most appalling is the silence on the part of the university. What in the world do they have to say for themselves! I was planning on sending my children their one day, but certainly won't now after seeing the lack of security at this university. And to state this woman is still enrolled? Someone needs to take a long hard look at what's going on here. Im sure there are plenty of parents who will withdraw any thought of sending their child at this school! Hope they know, no comment on this issue is hurting the university even more!!!

This is in response to DMMC-

#1, You mentioned the security of our campus. She was not living on our campus.

#2, What would you expect the university to say in response?

#3, Hopefully your children can use the proper form of "there". Then, maybe they'd have a chance of even getting into a community college let alone Drexel University.

Don't ever down-talk my university unless you can actually post an intellectually sound argument.

First off, What does living on campus have to do with the security issue? Second, the university does need to respond to how this could happen and what they plan on doing so it won't happen again! As for the spelling mistake OOPS, we are only human. And last but not least, Drexel at bottom of list. My children will go to one of the many other upstanding schools we have to choose from. I really do have the right to down your school after hearing this story on NATIONAL TV!

What type of security do you want Drexel to improve upon? The only thing that Drexel can fix is what happened with giving Kirsch a free parking spot. Kirsch robbed people in a condo in center city. Drexel's security is fine as far as against Kirsch. Kirsch didn't break into any buildings, bother any other students, professors, staff, or destroy any property. What does Drexel need to secure better exactly?

How can the university prevent this from happening again? Is there a certain SAT/GPA score that if a student gets it, it means that they will commit crimes? Or should Drexel just ban anyone who looks like they might be a criminal by their appearance? This HAS NOTHING to do with the university. There is constantly crime across the country performed by college students (this just happens to be a big case). Did University of Pennsylvania comment on "Clyde"? Has Upenn said anything about the ex-professor who sexually assaulted a student? You have unrealistic expectations to expect Drexel to address this in any way. Besides, Drexel has an extensive PR department and I'm sure they decided together to respond to it in the best way based on past examples of incidents and how other schools have, and I'm sure they also looked at data, something that you or I have not done.

I hope that you don't send your children to this university because there are too many pessimistic students here already who whine and complain about everything with no facts and they expect things to be perfect.

The unabomber went to the University of Michigan and an Enron executive came from an "ethical" christian universities for undergrad and Harvard business school. George Bush Jr. was a frequent cocaine user and an alcoholic at Yale. This doesnt reflect poorly on the University but on the person.

You do sound like a jackass.. Its funny when people try to sound elitist and end up sounding retarded.

Though it's not a reflection on the students I see your point on her being able to slip through and con everyone. Ignore the rude comments, that person does'nt represent us!!

What is that even supposed to mean? Have you looked at the freshman class profiles? http://drexel.edu/em/undergrad/get-to-know/overview/freshman-class.aspx By the way, these numbers are increasing too, year after year. Have you noticed the school is ranked 109th and climbing? I feel pretty bad for other....oh...I don't know, 6,000 schools in the country ranked worse than us if Drexel sucks... Do some research before you criticize. I don't know whether you are a student at Drexel or elsewhere, live near Philly or not, but it doesn't matter, do some research.

Dear,

I have been a student at Drexel for almost 5 years now. I don't need research, I lived that place myself. No, I could not transfer even though I tried. I am extremely disappointed with the school.
I'm glad you like it though and I hope that doesn't change.
BTW: when I enrolled, Drexel was ranked higher, then fell, then went back to 109. Basically, it didn't rise at all. And that is 5 years.

Mass communication..have you read about it? Is this a mistake or you indeed wanted us to know about this trash news.

Yes, this kind of news sell but there are so many "trash magazines" around. Do you really want to compete?

Let me know so I do not bother picking up an issues of The Triangle anymore.

Shame of all this. I think the boyfriend who appears to be a loser got all caught up with a very hot girl who is a thief in addition to other problems (she needs help) went along with everything just to be with her. It is my thought that not only should they pay back the money they took, but her especially should do time and not at a country club. As far as him and looking at him, he was thinking with the wrong head, but still should do time. You don t do things like this.

Learn to work hard, not rip off others and giving them hardaches.

Honestly, this is a bad crime...but all these photos...and this case to be SO public is really very unnecessary! theres no need to do all this to the pooe family! Imagine what they are going through, this was just a mistake of greed...its human nature..plus being young doesnt help either. I feel Probation and paying back the victims would be good for this case..My heart really goes out to miss Jocelyn and her Bf Edward for what they are going through and their families...Also to the victims in this case.

Perhaps the couple needed the excitement in their relationship of doing something unlawful... but credit card forgery goes beyond a game I think. They deserve to be disliked so much and I hope they both get a fair amount of time in jail for their actions
