Airship evidence proven to be hoax, creation of jokers

The Airship sightings were probably caused by secret test flights of experimental dirigibles. Some of the stories are obviously hoaxes but there are many which cannot be dismissed as hoaxes. Also it is interesting to note that the many of the inventors named in the newspaper accounts were real people whose existance has been confirmed by researchers by checking genealogical records.
